Everyone’s favorite time of year is officially here! Buuuuut let’s be real—summer can be one of the most difficult seasons to know what to do when styling hair. My bathroom mirror frequently hears me yell “fine!!! i’ll just put it up!!!!” And I have a hunch mine is not the only bathroom mirror to have heard this in the summer season. So we’re here today to talk about what on earth to do with your hair when it’s approximately 400 degrees outside and the humidity is—depending on where you’re located—through the roof. Summer is the perfect time to embrace effortless hairstyles that keep you looking stylish while staying cool in the heat, so let's explore some simple yet chic hairstyles that will have you feeling 100 all season long.
Summer Style #1: Chop it Off
This one started as a joke, but the more I thought about it the more I was like “wait, yes, this.” Bobs are super in right now (they’re always in IMO) and *also* IMO, there’s no better time to rock one. First and foremost, shorter hair means way less hot flashes during the humid months. It also means less weight—making it easier to manage and style your hair with minimal effort (truly you really only have to style the top layer most of the time). Shorter haircuts also tend to dry faster, saving you time during a blowout and also saving you from the misery of hotboxing your bathroom. Bobs are fun alllll the time, but particularly so in the summer months.
